NYC | Afternoon Tea at The London (+ Flute)

We’re having The London Bar with April today.
French verveine to drink…iced! Just because it’s so hot outside.
Tea sandwiches. Egg and cress in the center. Surrounded by cucumber and cream cheese, ham and mustard, roast beef and horseradish, and smoked salmon.
Warm scones: buttery plain ones and currant scones.
Served with cream (whipped, not clotted) and strawberry jam.
And little sweets. Financiers, opera cake, madelines, fraisier cake, fruit tarts, and carrot cake (our favorite from the set).

Post-tea, head to Flute a block west on 54th Street.

Champagne by the bottle, glass, or these playful tasting flights. Let’s start with The Magic Flûtes. Left to right: Piper-Heidsieck Brut NV, Charles Heidsieck Rosé, and Paul Goerg Blanc de Blancs 2002.
