There’s a new afternoon tea at The St. Regis New York. Guests can now pick between Lady Astor’s afternoon tea, and this new, slightly fancier Caroline’s afternoon tea.
Let’s begin. Smoked black tea…
…lemon, honey, and steamed milk on the side.
Roasted artichoke hearts with goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives and watercress.
Duck prosciutto with pineapple, cilantro, and truffles tucked into endives.
Marinated shrimp with dill and citrus vinaigrette on brioche.
Foie gras mousse with brandy, pickled shallots on multigrain.
Scottish smoked salmon with lemon butter and capers on pumpernickel.
Then come the scones, still warm. Two each of the sugar-topped traditional and raisin.
Double devonshire cream, strawberry preserves, and lemon curd.
A little bit of everything.
Onto the sweets. First, the pavlova with lemon crème and berries.
Raspberry sacher (marmalade, chocolate ganache, chocolate-almond sponge cake).
Classic cheesecake, graham cracker crumb, and chantilly.
