Steph returned from Hilo and brought back my favorite Big Island treat…mochi from Two Ladies Kitchen! It’s been a long time since our last visit. Let’s eat them all…
Back for the monthly afternoon tea at MW Restaurant. It was Thanksgiving-inspired this month ^-^
Best part about afternoon tea here is that it’s very much a meal of “real food” and not just nibbles. I also appreciate the balance between savory and sweet (most places err on the side of too many sweets). Want to see everything? Up top is the Chinese roast duck salad, beets and orzo, and the edamame falafel…
Afternoon tea for two at Yauatcha Waikiki.
There are two afternoon tea sets available: Regular and Vegetarian. Both include choice of tea, three savory courses (steamed, cheung fun, fried), and one dessert. Let’s look at them both ^_^
First, the tea offerings:
- Jade Oolong with Hawaiian Hibiscus (a Yauatcha Waikiki exclusive)
- Straight Leaf Jasmine Green (Taipei, Taiwan)
- Classical Beauty Oolong (Taipei, Taiwan)
- Lapsang Souchong (Fujian, China)
- Heirloom Emerald Green (Yunnan, China)
- Anxi Tie Kuan Yin (Fujian, China)
2016 was a lot of going back and forth between NYC and Honolulu. I’m still trying to figure the perfect schedule for living in both cities (spring/fall in NYC and summer/winter in Honolulu?)…but am getting closer. Maybe I’ll figure it out this year.
