Four Seasons Lana’i, The Lodge at Koele

Aloha from Lana’i!

For Christmas, Pierre and I gifted each other a vacation on Lana’i. There are three hotels on the island: Hotel Lana’i, Four Seasons at Koele Lodge, and Four Seasons at Manele Bay. We decided to split our stay between the two FS properties.

Dad drove us to the airport early this morning. It’s only 40-minutes from Honolulu to Lana’i on Mokulele Airlines. It was my first time flying on a tiny prop plane…

…the plane only fits nine people, and there were four passengers (us included). Can you believe the pilot was my high school classmate from Punahou? Small island ^_^

Here we are leaving Oahu…

…and arriving on Lana’i.

The weather has been windy/rainy/dark the last few days, so fingers crossed things clear up before we move to Manale Bay. Pierre’s itching for some beach time.

Hooray for early check-in. We immediately unpacked and got on the resort shuttle to Lana’i City. It’s only a mile away and you could easily walk on a nicer day.

First stop, Poke Market. I had furikake-tobiko poke and spicy ahi poke. The owners cleaned a bench on the side of the shop so we could eat out of the rain, thank you!

We had coffee at Coffee Works and went back to the lodge for a nap…

…and then afternoon tea at the lodge. I’ll do a detailed post on this soon ^_^

When you head to Manele Bay you may want to consider lunch at the golf course. It has a beautiful view and there is a shuttle from the hotel.Alan

Thank you! Oh, I didnt say 'HI'because i was too shy. All your relatives around.. hehe.. Do you know Lon Ho from Punahou? I think he was in your class, he must have been a shy one. He's my older brother! he introduced me to your blog because we are avid foodies. I think all chinese people love food anyway. We are now living in Singapore.. You should come to Singapore! Singapore has so much good food and a large variety of cuisines. Have you been?Dacy
