Solo Travel

Is it already December? I landed back in NYC last night, exhausted and so happy.

Thank you to everyone who made this Taiwan and Hong Kong trip extra amazing. From the couple at the airport who offered to take me to their favorite breakfast spot, to David and Austin of Tearroir, Joanne and her super chic aunt (and all the eating we did!), and Tim for cigars and pu’erh. And the kindness of strangers! It was my first time traveling completely solo from beginning to end, and I was terribly nervous heading over…what if x goes wrong, what if x doesn’t show up, what if x falls though. In the end, everything went even better than planned.

I’ll do another post on solo travel in the future. But the main takeaway I got this time around? Traveling solo can open up many doors that would not have been possible otherwise. Cheers to adventure ^_^

O welcome back Kathy…I really missed your posts !! but glad you’ve had such an amazing experience…it IS scary travelling alone…but once you’ve taken the are ready for anything. Have a great Christmas wherever you are.

On a previous entry of one of your trips, I don’t remember which, you said you did the whole with just a carry-on. You should do a post on how you pack and what you pack. By now you must have a lot expert advice! Thanks

Love traveling by myself! It can be isolating, but I’ve found that it also opens your heart and eyes to the generosity of the world around you. Looking forward to hearing more about the trip and all the tea you tasted!
